Nikograus Bowl - 06./07.Dezember 2008 in Freiburg/Germany

This year the Freiburg Open will be a Nikograus special.

The prices:

Winner, Runner Up, Best Painted, Most Sporting and the Last but one Team

The rules so far:

LRB5 with RR2008
TV110
extra skill buying before tourney
inducements but no stars or wizards
6 games in swiss reset style
Scoring 4-2-1-0

Explanation for the "skill buy" thing:
- max. 100.000 for skills
- skill 20.000 / double 30.000 /big guy double 50.000
- max. one skill per player
- no stat increases

Here is the thing. A few of us (2-3) from Zagreb(Croatia) wuold like to go on a tournament soon, yours seems the closest. Could you help us with some info. How to come there by train or bus (and what is cheaper) from Linz (Austria) (we have free transportation to Linz - and that is hopefully half way there) how much does a hostel cost? Do you have an enterance fee?

i'll try to find out some of the info my self but i would still like to hear from you.

One extra skill before the tourney, but no extra skill before each game...? is that correct?

I´m a spanish living in Zurich at the moment, and I´m just thinking about going...we´ll see...

Hi folks,

now we have a giveaway for every attending coach.

There are also little changes with the tournament points.

4P win
2P draw
1P loss by 1TD
0P loss by more TDs

Skills may be bought before the tournament out of the 1.100.000 budget.

About 15 coaches want to attend. Some from Munich, Zurich and maybe Zagreb too.

Hope to get some concrete information soon.

Hmmm... so 20.000 for a normal Skill, right?
Can I buy ANY Skill allowed
A Skill you would get by rolling doubles for 30.000, or a ST +1 for 50.000?

But...

Can you post all the rules, or some link so we can read the rules altogether...? Is there a limit on the number of skills? Doubles allowed?

What makes the diference on the 10/12e cost?

Some cheap acommodation there?

Okay, I´d say Stat increases are not Skills so they might not be allowed.

But a proper wording on this could help.

This rule give enourmous options.
Think about bying 11 Dark Elf Linemen and 2 Re-Rolls. You may add 10 Skills and a Double

And nowhere is it mentioned that each player can have only 1 skill.
Blackorcs with Block AND Guard are easily worth 120.000

4 Blackorcs
4 Blitzers
3 Lines
2 Rerolls
leaves 190.000 for skills.
1 gets Leader, that leaves 8 skills, all Blackorcs get Block and Guard.

I think this "buying skills is possible"-thing is not really thought through.
Do you really want to face 13 Amazon Linos with 2 Rerolls, Leader and 16 skills?

I really didn´t mention that it might be possible to take more than 1 Skill per player, because I wanted to keep it as a surprise for the tournament

We´ll meet Tobias at Baden Basho. I guess we have to talk with him about that...

Oops,

I didn't think to create this much confusion on the tournaments rules, so here some comments.

1. The tournament is basically a TV100 tournament, so you have to choose your starting team for 1.000.000.

2. You can then spend the remaining 100.000 for either more players, better players, or extra skills.

3. If you choose skills:
-normal skills 20.000
-doubles 30.000
-doubles on big guys 50.000
-no stats increases

4. Each player can only have one such extra skill.

This should prevent the above mentioned uberteams, but should allow for a little more flexible teambuilding as any team can get 5 extra skills as maximum or 2 skills and 2 doubles etc.

Intended was the skill buying thing for highly specialized teams with expensive position players. It should allow to create a good starting roster for 1.100.000, if you decide against extra skills.
If you are happy with your TV100 basic team, you can add some extra skills for completion.
