I guess we need to do something about the colleges Dark and Bright to make sure people pick other colleges as well OR I will start making you guys pick teams the Tulips way.

Bright and Dark do look good based upon this, but if you were to limit each college to only 2 teams of each, it may well throw out some surprise results..

kinda sad that we added new colleges a couple of years back and to date no one has actually fielded them...

Yes I did! I fielded Stone.

But to answer your question. A lot of players look at the Colleges and try and make a team that will give them the best chance of victory. People play to win mostly (in my opinion) and don't care about fielding wacky fun teams (with some exceptions of course).

But I'm workiing on it. Someday, people will see that we are there for the fun as main part, and not to win!

The why don't you assign colleges to the coaches by a random hat draw done by an impartial party.

Hmm, I'm a bit surprised.. I would have fielded Dark as well but figured I'd be pretty much alone with that. Why? Well: Bright, Gold, Celestial, Amber seem to be the "best" teams for "power-gaming" - perhaps it has something to do with mini availability?

Dark, Amber and Bright are the best on paper I would say, but if you only rolls skulls and ones, they are all rubbish!

as for random college assignement, I lke the idea, but it requires coaches to bring a LOT of minis to a tourney.. or we have a lot of "that Mummy is actually a Goblin" conversations...

better to get a list of probable attendees a few months in advance and then allocate colleges like an NFL draft, so last place from last year gets to choose college first...

Sorry ramsay, i meant that the draw should be a few months prior as well. But i like your draft idea. Sounds better, and i think would fit more with the fluff of the tourney.
