Oh Yeah. Looking forward to this. I'm going Undead with Luck and rumour has it Spyke is ditching the bitches (Amazons) and back to the evil little shites (Dark Elves). (%$*!

Going to be fun alright. And the travel ain't so bad for a change. Suits me nicely!

With 110k to spend i'm tempted to go with Orcs. 4 Black Orcs and 4 Blitzers is too good to resist.

Tourney Team

I've gotta admit I thought about it myself. But only one problem is they're a tad slow. So you've gotta go for casualties and keep them down so you can score. I reckon its going to be Skaven and Dark Elves that do the damage overall. Having played and had my butt kicked by Skaven I reckon they're probably the force to be reckoned with. Only problem is their Ogre is expensive and you can only have the one and 110K doesn't seem to really help them much.

You need skills for this tournament. With only getting one skill per game the first game is going to be either a make or break for overall scoring and placement for the finalist. Blitzers are great of course, no problem there at all as are Throwers, but as I've learnt strength doesn't necessarily make the team. I love Orcs myself and have played them at both Res and Amsterdam but this time I'm probably going to change for something a little different.

Do the numbers and see what else you can come up with. For my own Orc team with 1.1M I looked at 4 Blitzers, 3 Black Orcs, 2 Throwers and a couple of Linemen. That also gives you potentially 4 Rerolls and 6 Fanfactor. You might want an extra lineman or maybe only 3 Rerolls.

And before anybody says it, I'll be going Undead if I can get a team painted in time. Lets just pretend I've raised all my previous DEAD Orcs! And we know theres been a few! DOH!

I've found Skavs can cut both ways in a tournament. When they lose they lose big.
Dwarves, played well, can be lethal.
Orcs are popular but, as Ian once mentioned, they can be unforgiving.
High Elves, I feel, are a strong team for tournaments.
Humans are definitely a very strong tournament side.
Undead have a number of advantages in a tournament but can also be very unforgiving.
Wood Elves, depending on starting cash and rules, can be very strong contenders.
Chaos are very difficult to use in a tournament situation.
Amazons are strong in theory but I've not really seen them shine.
Never seen Norse used in a tournament but I think, played well, they could be very strong.
Dark Elves are a very strong tournament team. I rarely see good Dark Elf coaches at tournaments though.
Chaos Dwarves can be a very strong tournament team. Also a little unforgiving tho.
Lizardmen are, as we know, current BB champions. I think this is more down to the skill of the coach than their strength as a tournament team.

Still tossing up what to take myself. Undead, Skaven or Humans are my choices at the moment.
