I'm a newcomer saying hello...
Hi all,
I've only recently joined the forum, and gotta say that's it quite addictive.
Have been playing Bloodbowl for quite some time - 4 years or so, and have played with most the teams out there.
Don't pretend to know everything about the game but hope that some of you guys will have some sound ideas.
At the moment playing with a team called the Altdorf Alliance where all my lineman have the block skill, and my 3 blitzers have got strip ball and sure hands, thrower has kick, block, accurate and dodge on normal skills.
So not bad team (did have st4 ag4 blitzer but damn mummy killed him).
Use Griff and Morg as star players.
Won more than lost - I think the record is won 17 drawn 5 lost 6
Hope that I can pick up some good advice.

Welcome.
I'm, assuming from your post that you haven't seen the latest version of the rules. (Star Players are now only allowed as Freebooters.)
You can download the newest version of the rules at http://www.bloodbowl.com and if you have any questions, don't hesistate to ask. Just be prepared for lots of different answers.

I am aware of the freebooter rule, but it's the only thing that I don't use from the LRB!!!
In the league I play, star players are hired at the start of the season using a transfer market (obviously humans to human teams etc)
Minimum bid is book value for the player. Then modifiers are applied on the basis of the success of the bidding teams. i.e. Champions +2 modifier Basement Battlers -2 modifier (You get the jist).
The star player is then payed a fixed 25,000 per match.
So if the team can not afford to field him for one match then it's tough!!
No two teams can field the same star player.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

I am definitely becoming a very sad man in my old age.
I have spent hour after hour on this site the last few days....
Guess I ought to think up a good signature....
I am so sad that I even have a figure representation of myself on the Bloodbowl field . I use the Felix model from Gotrek and Felix Warhammer, with stats MA7 ST4 AG4 AV8 Skills Dodge, Block, Catch
Meant to be a forest dwelling loner - speaks volumes......
Damn.
Breakdown coming on.....
