How long do the little post-its stick around

Sometimes I'm only gone a few hours and there are none of the orange notes telling me something's been posted since I last checked. Then, if I look at my recent posts, lo and behold, there HAVE been posts.

I dont know but i have noticed it too at times, especially if there has been a server crash.

I've been on here all day and I've missed things that got posted an hour ago. That's a little short for me. I'd like to set it to about 6hrs. I'd loose stuff overnight but that'd be about it. I hit this place pretty regularly.

I call it pathetic. I really need a life.

I think the problem is that you're keeping the page open. When i do that, i don't get the orange tags either. But i do get them for messages that are weeks or even months old when i'm gone that long as long as the page is closed.

I've found that if I open the page, then lose the connection all the orange highlights are gone.

I find this mildly irritating as I don't always get time to read all new posts in one go and when I log off all the highlights are cleared.

This is doubly irritating when my ISP disconnects me within 5 minutes of logging on :pissed:

If you are a real addict *cough* you can offset this somewhat by checking the "view last 24 hours" option on the main page.

I leave it open all the time and then when i refresh it the orange ones come up for posts ive not read, so dunno works fine for me.

Don't worry Snot, I'm just as bad. I actually just needed to test out how quoting and smiley faces worked, and figured a smart-ass comment was the perfect way.
