Wizards and Blitz question

Post by Toenail »

Are Wizards permanent purchases or do they only last one game? Also, if the Orc team has taken five turns and the Human team has taken four, and the Orcs kickoff, and roll blitz!, do they still move their turn marker, even though that would put them two turns ahead of the Humans?

First about your question about the kick off event Blitz!:
CRP wrote:Blitz!
The defence start their drive a fraction of time before the offence is ready, catching the receiving team flat-footed. The kicking team receives a free ‘bonus’ turn. However, players that are in an enemy tackle zone at the beginning of this free turn may not perform an Action. The kicking team may use team re-rolls during a Blitz. If any player suffers a turnover then the bonus turn ends immediately.
I marked the important part in red.
Being a free bonus turn means that you DO NOT move the turn marker. This special turn happens, so to speak, kind of in the humans turn, which hasn't started yet.
Please note that you can't use players standing adjacent to an enemy player, not even for a simple block. You may only use players who are free, meaning not standing in any opposing tackle zone. Also, please not the chronoligical order of events while resolving a Kick-Off:
  • Place the ball on the pitch
  • Scatter ball to determine where the ball is about to land
  • Roll on the Kick-Off table
  • Resolve the Kick-Off table result
  • Bounce/ catch/or touchback the ball
This means, the ball is basically still in the air when the orcs start their incredibly fast reaction to the restart of the match.

This should pretty much answer the question about wizards becoming a permanent team member:
CRP wrote:All inducements purchased are lost at the end of the match. No inducement can ever become a permanent part of your team.
Inducements are meant to be a method of even the odds when you play against a team with higher Team Value (TV). You may buy some if you have the cash but that money is adding to your TV, giving your opponent an advantage.

I hope this helped to clarify your questions.

I know, the rules are vast and sometimes not very clear.
Any more question, you're welcome to post them here.
