Thanks for the replies, and I have decided to keep the sand natural.

I've made a Static Grass Applicator, and while it worked perfectly on a test piece, I think the sand has interfered somewhat and my trail run on the board has turned out not quite as nice.

So, does it look like a grassy patch? or more like mould? I may just resort to basic flock instead of static grass, which is disheartening, as I want this thing to be as lifelike as a scale representation of fantasy football violence can be. 8)

from table-top level you will not be able to tell the difference... if you do a little shading on the sand around it, and highlighting the grass with a brighter green I think it will really pop.

Well, Da Krimzun Kleevers played their first exhibition match against some Dark Elves, and after a satisfying first half that featured a good sack followed by a pickup and run for a TD, the second half was a wild affair that saw a Delf blitzer make an against the odds pick up followed by a hail mary pass and score. (each roll required was a six). End result, Tie game.

Blood Bowl is great!
