RABBL Season 2 to start shortly - openings for new coaches

Post by Dangerous Dave »

Due to time constraints (mine) :( the format of the RABBL PBEM League is to change. It will be mainly LRB 1.3. Coaches pick and run with a team from the following lists:-

4 conferences as follows of at least 4 teams per conference

Code: Select all

Evil Good Dry Wet / Damp

Chaos Amazon Chaos Amazon
Chaos Dwarf Dwarf Chaos Pact Goblin
Dark Elf Halfling Dark Elf Lizardmen
Goblin High Elf Dwarf Lustrian Pact
Necromantic Human Halfling Necromantic
Orc Lizardmen High Elf Norse
Skaven Norse Human Skaven
Undead Old World Pact Khemri Vampire
Vampire Wood Elf Orc Wood Elf
All teams play each other within a conference plus some outside the conference.

As for picking, coaches choose in reverse order of the
table at end of Season 1. New coaches didn't feature in the League - but they are mid table. No 2 picks in a row can be in the same Division.

Additionally, in order to make the stunties a bit more competitive (if
anyone wants to play them of course!), I feel that the Flings should get a
permanent Master Chef for 50k plus have access to a Hot Pot (from Galak's site) secret weapon (see below). Gobbos can have access to 2 Secret Weapons from Chainsaw, Bombs, Pogo Stick etc - ie the list that was in BB Mags 1 and 2.

Hot Pot

This weapon may on be used if the Hot Pot secret weapon player is in
uninjured Reserves and normally needs two uninjured team-mates to assist him fire it (but can still fire the Hot Pot if there is at least one uninjured team-mate to help him). Once per half, during his turn the Hot Pot player may fire the Hot Pot onto the field using rules for a Hail Mary Pass with a -1 modifier if there is only one team-mate helping. If a modified 1 or less is rolled then the Hot Pot has slipped and spills all over the players trying to fire it. Make an armour roll for each of the three (or two) players firing the Hot Pot. Anyone in the square it lands in is
automatically knocked down and those in adjacent squares are knocked down on a 4+. Roll for armour and injury normally. Note: Referees are onto this Halfling trick, so penalty rolls are made for the Hot Pot player at the end of any drive that he stayed in the Reserves (rather than the normal rule of his being on the pitch).

The following may be in or out depending on coaches voting:-

Stars (freeboot)
Wizard (freeboot)
Aging or EXP

League points is undecided it could be World Chess (as MBBL) or a modified World Chess for "big wins" or a points system similar to the one used in Season 1 (see the web-site)

http://www.dn-allen.supanet.com/RABBL.html

(NB the web-site is still showing all the rules for season 1).

If anyone wants to play - please email me:-

OK RABBL season 2 is pretty close to starting.... one "minor" problem - we have 19 coaches and need 1 more to fill up the 4 divisions (if I get 5 coaches asking I will make it 4 divisions of 6 teams). If interested, the rules are:-

Flings get a permanent Master Chef for 50k plus a Hot Pot Player, Gobbos can have 2 secret weapon players per the BB Mag 2 list.

The 4 divisions are:-

Evil

Chaos
Chaos Dwarf
Dark Elf
Goblin
Necromantic
Orc
Skaven
Undead
Vampire
Skaven Clan Moulder

Good

Amazon
Dwarf
Halfling
High Elf
Human
Lizardmen
Norse
Old World Pact
Wood Elf
Lustrian Pact

Old World

Chaos
Chaos Pact
Dark Elf
Dwarf
Halfling
High Elf
Human
Khemri
Orc
Chaos Dwarf

New World

Amazon
Goblin
Lizardmen
Lustrian Pact
Necromantic
Norse
Skaven
Vampire
Wood Elf
Skaven Clan Mors

Rules

LRB 1.3 with the following changes (the first 3 were all voted on by the
players):-

No Wizards
No Stars (freeboot or otherwise)
EXP system
Other rule changes for PBEM (eg Sidestep) - see the current RABBL Web-site for these

League Points

World Chess League Points with 1 bonus point if your TDs plus cas are 3 or
more higher than your opponent

Matches

2 in league games then 1 game out of division followed by 1 game in division etc as follows:-

1 game in division
1 game in division
1 game out of division
1 game in division
1 game out of division
1 game in division
1 game out of division

Thus a total of 7 games. The games out of division will be against the team in the same position as your team (1st to 5th) as follows:-

Round 1 out of League

Evil v Good
Old World v New World

Round 2 of Out of League

Evil v Old World
Good v New World

Round 3 of Out of League

Evil v New World
Good v Old World

Thus after the first 2 League games in division, the top team from Evil will
play the top team from Good and so on. This brings in a Swiss style element to a conference system.

There will be no O/T in regular season League games - a draw is a draw.

Coaches pick teams in reverse order of the RABBL season 1 League Table.
Once 8 coaches have picked, all the new RABBL coaches pick followed by the remaining 8 RABBL coaches until the RABBL season 1 champ has the last pick. The following rules are used when picking:-

A coach cannot pick a team in the same division as the last pick (unless
this is required by other rules)

No division can fall more than 2 teams behind in its picking (ie if Evil has
2 teams picked and Good none, no more Evil teams can be picked until Good has a team)

Commish prerogative - I may stop certain picks if I want to or am just
feeling difficult!

3 Coaches will be asked to submit their 3 choices to me (not to the RABBL
Group) as follows:-

First choice, race and division

Second Choice, race and division

Third Choice, race and division

The choices must include at least 2 divisions.

Once you have been allocated a team, send me your roster as follows (in
order of preference):-

HTML not using the Other SPP column with pictures

HTML not using the other SPP column no pictures

Text file or email

Once the 7 games have been completed, we will go into the play offs. The
top 2 teams in each division will enter the Senior Cup. The teams finishing
3rd and 4th in each division the Junior Cup. The Draw will be seeded as
follows:-

League Points
Total Net TDs + Net Cas
Team Rating
Results if played against a team level with you
Random Draw

The top rated team in the Senior Cup will play the 8th rated team in the
Senior Cup. This will be a knockout competition with O/T. O/T will
continue until a T/D is scored (although if one half is completed a second
half will then start).

A knockout competition continues until the Senior Cup and Junior Cup winners
are decided.

The teams finishing bottom of each division will have their own competition:
The Wally Anker this will be a knock out too but obviously will only be
semis and the final but will be seeded as with the other competitions.

Prizes

Prizes as follows:-

Win Conference 40k
Player with most SPPs in each Division +1 to FF (ie 4 prizes)
Player with most Casualties (all div'ns) 20k (tie =lowest SPPs win otherwise
shared) - 1 prize
Player with most TDs (all div'ns) 20k (tie =lowest SPPs win otherwise
shared) - 1 prize
Player with most Completions (all div'ns) 20k (tie =lowest SPPs win
otherwise shared) - 1 prize
Team with Lowest TR 1 Reroll (tie = lowest League points win)

The conference prizes are awarded before the Play Offs start

Win Senior Cup 100k
Senior Cup Runner Up 50k

Junior Cup Winner 50k
Junior Cup Runner Up 20k

Wally Anker Cup Winner 80k
Wally Anker Cup Runner Up 50k
Wally Anker Cup Semi Final Losers 40k

Casualties can only be scored by blocking and thus earning 2 SPPs. A team casualty can be earned by pushing a player into the crowd (who injure him) or by fouling - no SPPs are awarded for the last 2. A team casualty should be recorded by increasing your casualty counter and will count to whether you score a bonus point or not.

Please email (or PM) if you want to play and can commit for the season - first received is in.

We have decided to expand the RABBL PBEM League from 20 coaches to 24 - this will make 6 teams per division and mean that scheduling of games is easier.

I have 2 coaches on the waiting list so that means we have 2 gaps. So.....

If you want to play - Season 2 should start sometime this year or early in Jan, please email me:

dn-allen@supanet.com

or PM me.

The first 2 messages I receive will have the places.

Thanks,

Dave

Thanks for all the responses. The League is now full with 24 coaches plus another 4 on the waiting list. Whilst I would have liked to include the other 4 coaches in the League, the format doesn't really allow it and I am concerned about expanding the League too much in case I can't cope with the additional size.

Apologies to those coaches who wanted to join but didn't make it.
