Retirement help

Post by Artificial Penguin »

I'm not used to being in this position, but here goes:

I'm playing an undead team, and only 4 games into the season I find myself in a nice position (4 - 0  ):

2 Mummies
4 Wights
2 Ghouls
1 Amazon Blitzer (we had a draft)
2 Skeletons (one is ST 2)
4 Zombies

I'm at 15 players, as you can see. My TR is 149, and I'm trying to decide whether to retire the ST 2 Skeleton as an Assistant Coach. It would only my TR by 2, but I'd still have 14 players.

Doesn't seem like a big deal to me either way. I suppose I could have a game where I need 4 reserves, but it hasn't happened yet.

But I'd like to know what you all think :D

a st2 skeleton is dead weight. He also has ag2 and is pretty useless for everything. With 14 players and regenerate on most of them might as well get rid of him.

If you fon't care about the team rating part then i would hang on to him until you have 16 players, if nothing else he takes up space on the pitch if you get bashed around the ears in a game. He'll be the first drop when you do get 16 players however

Oooooh, OK that point about the MVP has sold me. That would really suck.

He'll be on the coaching staff next game. Thanks guys :D

Dump him now - don't bother with an assistant coach either.

Assistant Coaches are nigh-useless...just get rid of him and take back every point of TR you can.

Anything I say is totally opinion and (knowing my luck) probably completely wrong. Keep this in mind.

An amazon on an undead team!? Surely you have to admit this makes no sense...

Their league had a draft, and from what I remember, that 'Zon is BAD ASS.

Yes, she is the result of a draft pick, and I picked 2nd :D.

She came on my team as a 6347 (+1 AG!) Am Blitzer with Block, Dodge, and Leader. She got one more skill and I gave her Strip Ball to complement my defense.

Interestingly enough, I was allowed to buy an apothecary, just for her, and last week was the first time she needed it (I take care to keep her safe). She got niggled...so what did the apothecary roll? Need you ask?

Oh well, at least she didn't die.

I read the draft part, I still think it makes no sense - I like trying to stick to the fluff.

I'm actually mostly in agreement with you Balrog. The only thing I *DID* like about the draft was the draft itself...it was a fun event. We'll probably do something like this again next season, and I'm going to strongly encourage that we are only allowed to draft players who our team could normally take.

And the whole draft thing has been getting a little worse because our commish decided people could do trades too...which, of course meant that our Skaven team was about to end up with two Mummies. I freaked out and it looks like the trade thing isn't going through, thank god. Just having one out-of-team player changes thing enough.

Drafts would be ideal in a large league, otherwise it becomes hard to do so and keep true to the fluff. However, I agree with you that each team should only be allowed one "allied" player.
