1.1 m Halfling build - want to use all Star PLayers

Post by Saebelsultan »

Hi coaches!

Our new season starts soon and I am coaching Halflings. Since I am starting a new team I will be grouped with more completly new teams. We can spend 1,100,000 GP on our roster. And over the course of the next couple of games I want to use all available Star Players. So I am thinking this build for my first game:

240 2 x Treemen
300 10 x Halflings
120 2 x RRs

+ 430 Morg 'n' Thorg (Inducement)

1090k GP

My thought is, I take Morg in the first game, because that way I can cross him of my list and concentrate on more 'flingy things like Chefs and Deeproot/Puggy from here on after. Also I would buy an Apo for game 2.

Am I completly off or and/or do you have advice/thoughts you'd like to share with me?

Cheers!

P.S.: Of course I expect nothing less than Morg to die in a Turn 1 foul, but at least I had him on the roster! 8)

Completely the right way to build halflings in a league - keep the money or new trees and induce all the stars!

The only thing i would recommend is some assistant coaches and cheerleaders, as they prevent your opponent getting rerolls once you steal them with the chef!

Good point. Since I almost always neglect FF, Cheerleder and ACs, what is a good number to start out with?

I don't see the need for buying an apo unless you get a super tree or halfling.
Until then, that's 2,5 tackle coming your way.

You can always add an apo via inducements if it's really needed, but I don't think you should get attached to your players.
They will all die. Sooner or later.

I was actually thinking apo for the trees. But that might be an error of thought. I still have loads in the bank and can easily replace a tree or two if need be.

If you are taking Morg in the first game and not the Chef then wait and buy the coach/cheerleader later.
Trees have 10 armor and once they root opponents don't hit them. Also, you have the money to replace, definitely wait on Apo.
I understand the idea of getting Morg out of the way, but chances are your opponents will advance in TV faster than you. I would take a less expensive star and take Chef. Halflings without chefs are cooked. :)
If you wait on Morg, I would also take coaches and cheerleaders. Probably two each. Don't buy FF.
