Help needed for Halflings v Shambling Undead

Post by halfPint »

My first league season is coming to an end. Somehow my halflings, (the Belhaven Halfpints), made it to the playoffs. However we're up against the undead team who haven't lost a match, let alone a player, (my casualty list is longer than the team list).

Our previous meeting was carnage. Early on he had his blitzers and mummies gang up on the treemen, knock them over and foul them into the injury box.

Luckily they survived, but five plucky 'flings didn't.

Looking for any tactics you 'fling vets can suggest to avoid a repeat beating.

Thanks in advance!

Deeproot is awesome because he can beat up two Mummies on his own. If you can somehow trick your opponent into putting both Mummies on Deeproot, that takes them both out of the game. If I had to choose between him and Zara, I'd take him instead, for this reason.
This assumes that you're getting a Master Chef, of course, which is critical anyway.

If you can get the Chef, Deeproot, and Zara, things are starting to look good.

Foul any Ghoul that goes down! They're the weak points in every Undead team, they don't regenerate, and there isn't much that he can do to replace them.

And of course ... you took Halflings to the Playoffs!! Congrats! Celebrate that a bit. And whatever it is you're doing right, keep it up!
(No matter how this game turns out, for the rest of your Blood Bowl career you can officially boast about taking the Halflings to the Playoffs!!!)

But deeproot chould easily get stuck with a zombie leaching your blitzes while ghoules dodge up the field with ease.

No break tackle on trees right?

And Rolo is right. Flings at the playoffs. Gratz man!

Cheers guys. I was a bit off, I was actually facing Kemri. Didn't have enough inducement cash for a big name, though my two stock treemen soaked up most of the abuse early on.

Managed to take it to extra time, but went down fighting with the score at the final whistle 2-1.

Love those guys. The odds are so staked against them. There's rarely any 'easy' moves to make first. Typically you're immediately dodging, throwing them into ridiculous blitzes, dice stacked against you, praying to Nuffle for three skulls.

I still celebrate and boast about my 1-1 draw against Orcs with 'Flings!
Basically ANY achievement done with 'Flings makes you a hero! :)
