Foul is an action ???

Post by chsic »

Hello,
Further to numerous discussions on French mailing list, I would like knowing this:
-An Foul is it an action (like pass or blitz) because the rule says: " "one player per team turn is allowed to take has FOUL ACTION. " (Living Rulebook, p24)?
-That makes during an action of movement ?
-If not for two questions, I can make a blitz and an foul during the same action?
Thanx !!!
Christophe

yes a foul action is an action like blitz and pass

you can move and then foul someone and the action ends with the foul, just like the pass action where you move and then pass and the action ends with the pass

A Foul is an Action.

The action consists of moving like in a normal movement action, followed by the Foul. Just like a Pass action consists of a Movement + a Pass.
After the Foul you can not continue moving.

Combining a Foul and a Blitz in one action is not possible, just like combining a Blitz and a Pass in one action is not possible.

But yes, two separate players may carry out a blitz and a foul action in the same team turn, if that is what you wanted to know.

You can:

Blitz
Pass
Foul
Hand Off

all in the same turn, just not using the same players to carry out each task.

No, I want just to know if:
1/ Foul does it go into the list of actions (as blitz, pass etc.) And it obeys all the rules of actions (for example: does have so to declare it before activating the player?
2/ Of which page of the LRB ( only official rule) pull you your answers?
If your answers are not official, who can give one answers official here (member of the BBRC), (Because I can also give answers non-official (mine) )) ?
Thanx

@ 2) Page 24; it states:
... on player per team turn is allowed to take a Foul action. This allows the player to move a number of squares equal to his MA and then make a foul against an opposing player who is both prone and in an adjacent square.
So a Foul is an Action.

Page 8 says that an Action needs to be declared before it is taken. The reason Foul Actions are not in the list on page 8 is probably because fouls are an additional rule to the set of beginner's rules which end at page 16. (From page 17 and on are in fact Extra Rules!)
