Ball & Chain: Falling on a player with a GFI

Hey!

Say my B&C goforits, fails the roll, and is facing 3 players, 2 standing, 1 prone. In this scenario do I:

1) Fall over and end turn (turn ends? as if failing a blitz)

OR..

2) Roll D3, choose place to GFI to (as if failing a move, you go prone on the target square)

Assuming 2, do I push the target player out of the way and if I do and the player is

2a) standing - does he get blocked..
2b) prone - does he get an armor roll for being B&Cd on the ground?

So I guess my question really is is a B&C failing a gfi treated as a failed blitz or a failed move?

And if its treated as a move, do I get the B/C special actions for hitting a player (block, armor roll).. Or just the push (2 players cant co exist in the same square)?

GFI (p20):"Roll a D6 for the player after he has moved each extra square."

Therefore I would say that with Ball&Chain, you will first resolve your block and only after you have made it, you roll for the GFI.

It is worth to note that Blitz treats GFI with a special rule (p20): "A player that is taking a Blitz Action may !go for it" in order to make a block. Roll a D6 for the player after declaring that he will make the block."

Note that Ball&Chain may only take Move Actions and not Blitz Actions.

This is of course only my interpretation and I may be wrong in the subject.

Wow ... I never caught that ... but I'd have to agree with it looking at the rules.

A Fanatic can GFI and even if he fails he still moves and blocks first if applicable before eating dirt from the failed GFI.

Unless I'm missing a rule ... the fact that the Fanatic makes only a Move action that has Blocks during it would mean the normal GFI rules would apply.

Surely it would be more sensible though to treat it as a blitz GFI. Though not as fun!

And as it would not be fun, I say allow the block!

By the letter of the rules, it would seem to make sense.

Yea, this interpretations seems perfectly reasonable and clear.

And it's not like it will break the Goblins -- a little boost for them doesn't hurt the game in the slightest.

I could have bet 100€ that fanatics couldn't GFI :o
but now that you tell it, it is obvious they can.

Has it always been the case? or then, when did it start?

It's shocking to discover that during all those years, no-one in my league even considered doing so... well, goblins were not often played but still

Sorry to bring this question up four years later ^^

Could we just write the correct sequence ?
After reading the rulebook and this topic, i think it is :
1) determinate the direction of the move,
2) make the move (including block if necessary)
3) then roll the GFI dice and, if failed, fall on the new square : bye-bye Ball & chain.
Am i right, or wrong ?
Thanks.

PS : yes, i am a froggy. :orc:

That is the sequence as I would read the rulebook.
