TBB Legacy Team

Post by Milo »

Is there any interest in doing a TalkBloodBowl.com Legacy team? We did one years back for BBOWL-L, and it was very popular.

For anyone unfamiliar with the idea, a Legacy team is a team painted by volunteers from the group. We decide on a race and basic color scheme, then we all convert/paint individual minis. Someone gathers all the minis together and then chooses a winner. Last time, we gave people one entry into the raffle for each miniature they contributed.

With The Blood Bowl coming up soon (March, right?), we might be able to get it completed and then have Jervis draw the name out of the hat again.

This idea was mentioned a while back, I think the idea was to do a Pub Team.

I'm up for it! I'd prefer if we started after the BB though.

A pub team would be nice and 'off-kilter'. Yeah, I'm in.

I'd recommend we do one of the 15 official teams, since someone could win it who wouldn't be able to play a pub team in their league.

We did Chaos last time. I was thinking maybe Norse? Lots of room for conversion/alternate minis there.

Or we could do an "almost official" team, like Vampires.

True, although:

1) The Vampire Team List may still change; and
2) Everyone will want to do vampires, and no one will want to do thralls.

I like the norse idea, I don't have a norse team ;]

The team given away randomly i take it? Could do coaching staff and cheerleaders as well.

Grumble -- definitely. There were several of those in the BBOWL-L legacy team, including some great Blue Horror cheerleaders.

Anthony -- But, you're so *GOOD* at converting Norse figures. Goblins would work, in a pinch, and would definitely give room for some great Troll figures, goblins with weapons, etc.

Incidentally, here's a page with pictures of most of the original team:

I've got a goblin team already ;] Nah I'm not really bothered which race at the end of the day.

As for getting them together. We could post them all to fanatic and then having a mini sent in gets you down for a place in the raffle to see who gets them. Then say either jervis or andy could pick the winner and send the team out to them. That is if they will co operate.

I vote Khemri. Whoever wins would end up with a bag of bits they'd have to re-assemble anyway! :D

Seriously, I suggest that the winner should be somebody who contributes a fig.

How about Skaven or Chaos? That way there's no real limit of numbers because of the mutations available...
