Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
A forum for football mini's talk.......painting, converting etc. etc. or showing off great accessories that make playing the game easier, cooler or more fun.
a friend from our local league is 3D designing an amazing “demonic” team, composed of gorgeous succubus girls. He told us that the work is almost done and that is gong to be on Indiegogo really soon.
More images and information can be found on the website of the project:
I think those are gorgeous. I hope it gets funded because it would make a beautiful female dark elf team. It would pair nicely across from the Sylvania team.
Now here come the posts about the objectification of women in 3...2...1...
I'd just like to say that this sort of misogynistic portrayal of women is really quite disgraceful and anyone turning up with a team of these at a league or tournament I'm involved in running will be politely informed that they have no place at our events.
I appreciate they aren't the first team to look like this and your friend clearly has talent, but these are simply degrading. They need clothes, they need armour, and they need to not be posed or proportioned like they're out of some teenage boy's wet dream.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.
I like that they have some Bloodbowl gear on at least, far too many teams out there don't seem to have any relation to the actual game.
The concepts are well drawn, but the whole female porn star model thing is really played out. It doesn't help the image of tabletop gamers as pathetic basement dwelling nerds either. The Bloodbowl crowd has a slightly older demographic and it would be nice to have a bit more gender balance in the community, have to say stuff like this doesn't help. Especially as the majority of female models tend to be of the stripper variety.
I think players 1, 2, 4 and 5 are salvageable since they are in action poses. Give 4 a sports top and all of them shorts rather than thongs and they'd be fine as AV7, certainly no worse than witch elves. Oh and lose the high heels for boots like players 1 and 5.
Maybe some of you are right but it will surely sell well, lots of examples of minis like that selling well, Kalee, black widow elfball, some from shadowforge...
I like them, and I think the issue of 'sexist mini's' is generally blown way out of proportion. There are some pretty 'hunky' male mini's out there as well; GW Norse for one, Gaspez Norse and Chaos Dwarfs, Greebo Norse (pretty much any Norse team, really). Besides, most women I know do have a sense of humour and don't take it so seriously.
Can't say I was particularly impressed with this team concept and crowd-fund. It seems that, these days anyone with CAD knowledge and access to a 3D printer is starting a crowd-funding for a new BB team and, while there are a few that I found interesting (and pledged for a couple as well), most leave me feeling a bit "blah". I much prefer something sculpted by hand with all the imperfections that comes with "analog created " miniatures - but that's just a matter of personal taste.
Regarding this team concept, I don't like it. To dammed simple, derivative and lacking in imagination. The cheesecake aspect is moot as far as I am concerned (I have a couple of cheesecake teams) and there are better teams of the sort out there (bondage team or nuns team anyone?).
This one needs, at least, some concept development. As it is, it's just a bunch of generic female 3D models with unimaginative lack of clothing and tails.
Edit: whatever material they will be cast in, there will be problems with stuff like the stiletto heels and the thin spikes (the spikes on #1's helmet will come out shit, or break, or highly breakable or all the above)
Do nothing for me and I have the shadowforge bunnies and the greebo silvanian elves with four of the stripper picking up her knickers pose for the lineout. Too out of proportion derivative and impractical.

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.
Looking at the facebook page they do look a lot nicer without the colours, especially the active poses. I don't really understand the obsession with high heels, thongs and cut off t-shirts (or less) for female BB players but I suppose this could be worked around with a bit of green stuff and the flesh can be painted as clothing.
IMO, the best looking teams are the ones which look like the belong as part of a team. This usually comes from a consistent uniform or armour colour scheme. The less clothes, the less cohesion. Anyway, that probably says more about me....I prefer my BB models to be playing the game, not lifting a barbell or posing for a catalogue photo.
