Skrædderene af Jorvik, Norse BB Team
So, here's my Norse team.
14 of 16 models painted, which is my full roster as it stands in the club league. There are two more linemen waiting for paint, and a whole set of sideline staff.
Most miniatures are from Greebo, with a couple from Willy and a couple from uscarl. All team miniatures are sculpted by Pedro Ramos, which has kept them looking so consistent in style.
There are a few minor conversions; most have had round plates added to display numbers, a few have had extra furs and leather straps added to fit in with the look of the Greebo mini's. All horns have been snipped and replaced with copper wire filed to a point, for extra strength (thin, fragile horns like that tend to bend and snap).
The bases have been scored to create the look of astro-granite slabs with torn and tattered astro-turf on top.
All bases have magnets inside to hold balls and/or markers in place, and as always are filled and capped.
Colour scheme was dictated by the awesom FF Fields Norse pitch. I'd considered a custom pitch, but there's little point as that one suits so well and I love the colours.
Yes they are all blonde. This is because as every schoolboy knows, Vikings are blonde, wear horned helmets, and have beards.
Enough blather, on with the pics.
Ctrl + clickor centre click the images for full sized pop-ups:
Berserkers:
Runners:
Ulfhednar:
Linemen:
Thrud (Snow Troll) & Thrower:
Thrud (again):
Turn/Score/Re-roll Markers:
A few random close-ups, showing faces and details:
Obligatory Team Shots:
That's all for now. I'll post the rest when they are done.
Thanks for looking,
Cheers,
JT-Y.

Those are awesome figures, wow!
Really like how you've used Thrudd as the snow troll too.
How did you make the re-roll/turn counters?

I have the Willy snow troll as well, originally I'd thought to use Thrudd as a lineman but he's too big. He was painted first as I want to take a Troll to Dobby Bowl this weekend and he looked the obviously quicker paint job. Now he's done I like him and can see him sticking in the role.
The troll I have may well become Icepelt instead.
The markers are made from random GW plastic bits from the bits box.
I believe, old edition plastic dwarf axes heads, beastmen shields, and banner poles. All clipped and glued together on 20mm round slottas.

Pop-ups should work now. F5 and try again. Please let me know if it's still coming up restricted.

Wow, I really like your paintjob. Great colour choices , great highllights, great details, really awesome paintjob. And I also like the sculpts, contrary to Norse. Are these minis bigger than GW norses or are they approximatly at the same scale?

Erm...
Probably they are bigger than the GW Norse mini's, they are quite large models, but they are more anatomically acurate for the most part; no overlarge fists, feet or heads. There's a good range of sizes as well; the Ulfhednar and berserkers are big, runners and linemen a bit shorter, runners are rangey, linemen are solid looking.
They look good alongside the GW human team scale wise.
I like the sculpts, the style works for me, but then I've spent years painting historicals, I don't like overly crisp and ridiculous detail on mini's, I prefer a blank canvas to paint on.
Musculature on these is great, armour and strapping makes sense, fur is paintable rather than over detailed or stylised. Some of the faces needed painting ro work well, but that is the casting not being up to the sculpting, rather than the sculptor making mistakes.
I can live with such things.
First models I've enjoyed painting in a while.
