You skip two crucials phases in miniature painting ; shadows with washes and highlights with dry brushes.MyKi#1 wrote:Finished my Nurgle team ]
You should perhaps read this tutorial ( step 7 and 8 ) : http://www.how-to-paint-miniatures.com/ ... arted.html

Re: Show Us Yer Teams!
I agree that a wash would have given them more depth, but I think if MyKi is happy with them then that's all that matters. Not everyone's mini's can look like they were painted by the 'Eavy Metal team.
It's a good color scheme and looks a hell of a lot better than plain pewter MyKi. Tell snakees that he's just jealous that he doesn't own such an awesome looking Nurgle team.

I think they look OK. I do think its worth watering down your paints a little too. Well done for getting hold of the cool indie chaos warrior

Re: Show Us Yer Teams!
Finaly a new team fully painted from me, too.
These are Willy Miniatures "Ultimate Halflings", sculpted by Pedro Ramos.
A great team to paint with lots of nice details.
The unpainted minis of the Indiegogo campagne can be seen at my website here, too.
http://www.blood-bowl-miniatures.de/ff/ ... index.html
For the skin i used for the first time the "Andrea Colors Skin set".
Nice to work with. But i didnt use instructions which came with the set.
I did it my way and used just mostly the highlight colors of the set...
There is a good tutorial at youtube, too:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4k4T84cU9-A
For the bases i tried this new GW "technical" Color "Agrellan Earth".
Easy to handle and it works really well as dried mud. IMO.
Also here a good tutorial:

Maybe someone followed my WIP entries at my FBaccount, too?

Agrellan Earth is a chunky paint that cracks up as it dries. It looks like Traveller has highlighted the cracked parts nicely. I really like it.Akka wrote:Wow, great work! Those bases though, how did you make them? They look more than amazing!
Great colour scheme and execution, lovely work.

Yep, thats right, Fassbinder.
Just watch the tutorial for Agrellan earth. Easy done. Just don't forget to paint the surface of the base dark brown or even black before using Agrellan. Two more highlight and some gras... Tatataa!

He used a "new" GW product, but you can also buy crackle paints from other brands, "old" . Or crackle additives (read the instructions, some are a in-the-middle coat, others have to be covered while wet) or even make your own, there are some tutorials using white glue for example, but can be a bit tricky or out of scale. Some products will even let you achieve different effects, from big ground cracks to tiny paint cracks for tanks. Art shops (the ones that sell oil paints and such, but also decoupage supplies) should have crackle mediums or paints, and in some cases you can find 10+ of colours in bigger pots than GW, so you can save time and money. Ask for FolkArt Crackle Medium, Distress Crackle Paint, etc.Akka wrote:Wow, great work! Those bases though, how did you make them? They look more than amazing!

Thx for the detail infos about the "old" ones.
