I actually used eggshell to make those bases. Sandy paste and eggshell, drybrush and wash, "dead grass" static grass. Now I'm experimenting with GW technical paints for my next team.

I love the numbering on the back. These are one of the best dark/high elf hybrids I have ever seen

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

I totally agree with the first part. Makes them having capes less of an issue ;).
These are indeed one of the best looking dark/high elfs around due to the outstanding paintjob. The minis in themselves I do not like however.

I love the bright, contrasting colours you use for your teams.
What paint/colours/technique did you use for the blue?

Cheers mate :)

I use about 90% Vallejo Model Colour, including all of the blue. I start with Andrea Blue base coat, highlight into Deep Sky Blue and then into white. I then use a mix of Andrea blue and Medium Blue to glaze the dark recesses. I always use white undercoat on minis that will receive a light colour scheme.

Thanks for that. Is there a reason you use Model Colour instead of Game Colour?
What's the difference between a glaze & a wash?
Is this the wrong thread for this discussion?

IIRC Game Colour is supposed to match GW colours, but I find their pigmentation and consistency a bit spotty. Model Colour tends to be thick, pigment heavy paint which I find works really well in conjunction with a wet palette. They do need a lot of thinning, but it is a small price to pay for tremendous coverage.
As you can see, Model Colour has its share of bright colours.

I think the only defining difference between a glaze and a wash is how liberally the thinned paint is applied i.e. you would be more judicious with a glaze.

And this is probably the wrong thread for a discussion, I might put a how to on my blog, when I pick up the brush again.

Again, in the interests of balance, I present the work of a less accomplished painter...
