Halflings: Picnic Pillagers
I recently sold a team that I'd painted for fun, the Halfling Picnic Pillagers.
I was sorely tempted to keep them since my first blood bowl team ever was a halfling team and I had a lot of fun with them.
I was then commissioned to add another treeman to use for Deeproot Strongbranch. He had the first version of the reaper treeman I had used, sculpted by Werner Klocke, one of my favorite sculptors, and I have to agree I think he makes a great Deeproot- he looks older with his long nose.. the integrated base was a bit of a chore to work with, so I clipped it, and sculpted his root toes to grip the base. I gave him an autumn look to reflect his age compared to the rookie treemen.

PI, your work brings me both joy and pain, love to see such great painted teams and then its hits me how unachievable those standards are for me.
The treeman look an even better fit to the team than the GW ones, where's the halfling pirate from or is that a heavily converted figure.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Thank you everyone

The halfling is from Reaper, not converted in the slightest actually. I figure he makes a good coach, and can sub in for a halfling chef in a pinchfirebreather wrote:PI, your work brings me both joy and pain, love to see such great painted teams and then its hits me how unachievable those standards are for me.

So from left to right(re-roll counters), there is a picinic basket and a pear, a set of plates and a apple and orange?
Needs more bangers and mash.

Re: Halflings: Picnic Pillagers
kind of hard to see the last picnic blanket, it is an apple & a chicken leg
the first is a basket & a simple terracotta jug, I imagine it has some kind of hobbit-made cider .. poor folks who get the middle blanket- empty dishes & utensils.. hope they have finished their meal rather than have had none yet

Looking at the coach, it seems he's the one that finished it off.
Though halfling cider sounds delicious.
