Enforcers of Chaos (Chaos Team)

Post by Sallacious »

Ok...the team is not done yet. After I completed Lord Borak, I tried my hand at two other Chaos Warriors and created this team logo. Next I am going to work on some beastmen.

I will take better pics when I can get a better light source and figure out how to take better pics with this camera.

Actually... I think you're right about the name. I am going to mess with the logo and see what looks better.

Actually...yes. I have his minis in front of me while I paint. We get pretty competitive with our paintings... one outdoes the other...and vice versa. So...yes to your question....hehe.

Falconeyed: I used wood glue to glue the sand to the base then flocked it. The colours of the sand look great in person so I chose not to paint it. The bases are then painted brown on the side. Then I mixed brown with bleached bone (50/50) for the rocks on the side. I mixed in more bleached bone for the first highlight and then even more bleached bone for the last highlight. After that I glued on the static grass. I wish I didn't do the grass yet as I haven't varnished the models yet....ugh!

You don't find that the varnish makes it look like the grass has dew all over it? or bubbles on the grass?

One of my biggest mental errors is varnishing after flocking. Lately I've been using a pebble like flock material. It's more like moss than flock so there's no issue applying the urethane clear, but when I do use a glossy varnish over flock it's bad.

No idea how norse gets away with such nice figs when he does that. So much to learn so little time.
