Skaven Apothecary components (ala Paintoff competition)

Post by Ewan »

To get the "how2" you'll have to visit Evil Gits' site (its not there yet!) but these were the parts ordered -

WarHammer -

Dwarf Anvil - Furnace side 1 +2 and front

Flame Cannon - fuel tanks and Gauges

Gyrocopter engine (the one with the valves on each side)

Goblin Hewer - motor + (sprue x2)

Steamtank - front wheel x2 and piston sprue

Warlock Engineer - backpack 1 + 2

Skaven Screaming Bell - Base

Globadier - #1 and Backpack 1 + 2

Necromunda -

Pit Slave Arm - Buzzsaw + Shears

WarHammer 40k -

Spacemarine Techmarine - Servo arm 1 + 2 (I didn't use one of them - can't remember which)

I think thats it...

Heh yeah.

Heres a pic of the "operating table" to see how the screaming bell base fits in. The manacles and chain tethers were "paintbrush protectors" cut to size then in half, with a bit of chain glued in position.

Ewan.

I loved this guy.

He rocks. I know he made my top 3, but I forget how I ended up scoring them all....(Its been a while since I went to the site.)

A brilliant paint job and full of creativity. I don't want to poop the party but my only criticism is that it doesn't look bloodbowlish on the first glance, it's rather fantasy/medieval looking for me. It would have been a good idea to include some modern gadgets in order to make sure people realize that this is meant for bloodbowl without further explanation.

Well, stick it next to a BB pitch...;)

Personally, if I'd seen it on a generic site, my first thought would have been "BB", just because it doesn't fit in with anything WFB.

Fantastic fig though. In a way, the Apo looks a little to bland next to that hulking piece of kit.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Yeah, but i see where nark is going. Standing on it's own, nothing says BB. Maybe a helmet on the floor or a ripped numbered shirt, just to link it to BB would have made it perfect.

No offence intended ewan!!! Still think it is an amazing bit of work. Could have just had 1 or 2 details specifically BB to round it off.

Oh come on. That's a great model, kudos. Much more effort than I'm sure anyone else has ever put into an apothecary.

Nark, i think we're speaking a different language here, no one seems to understand us.

Ok, here we go again.

I LOVE THIS DIORAMA!!! It's a great piece of work. Better than anything i could ever do. I will freely admit this. BUT!!!!

There is nothing that really says Bloodbowl is there? A sponge, a boot, something to show what it is linked to. If you put it on a table without knowing who made it and what it was made for, how many people would say "That's for bloodbowl". Not many i think. It could be a Warhammer Torture table.

Are we getting it now?

Ewan, i hope you are still going to come and visit?
