The legendary Screamin'Bells [New Skaven/Rat-Team]
Hy everyone!
the user Pug asked me to present my models here, and now my account is approved... so here we go...
I'm planing to create a whole fantasy-football rat-team. There should be several runners, catchers, blockers, and of cours an ogre.
Some things are already done, so i'm going to present them here. Furthermore i'll try to present some step-by-step pictures in the progress, so everyone could see how to sculpt an (amateur) model. Maybe someone gets infected and has a good mind to participate and create his/her own rats...
First of all some pictures of the finished models (i think some of them were already posted here in the forum):
here a really big ratogre. Sometimes there has to be more like tactic... brutality and obstinacy
this one should be something like a starplayer. Fast and sidestepping like a rabbit
and a blocker. Big but not nearly as big as the ogre
you might say "looks not really ratty" ... and you are right
it should first be a werwolf, but now i changed his head and tail and some other bits And here some links:
Here you can see the planning progress. It should be a catcher, junping up and spreading out to get the ball:
and with some more greenstuff:
At last the whole group with the WIP catcher
Best regards,
shitzzo

Re: The legendary Screamin'Bells
A little step-by-step-picture "tutorial"
the template:
http://i.a.cnn.net/si/multimedia/photo_ ... harles.jpg
now you are trying to bring a dummy in that position
time to use some green stuff and to cover the dummy. Fingerprints are not a problem yet.
more and more putty to get the right body proportions
now some details according to your plan
and so on...
beste regards,
shitzzo

Re: The legendary Screamin'Bells
Ogre and blocker are massiv, that is true. But in my opinion they should be massiv Runner and catcher by contrast are much thinner than the GW complement for example. The scale is about 28mm but more "human" than a skaven.Grumbledook wrote:while they look great need to be careful on the size of them, they all look massive
Maybe i get round to take some pictures beside a GW-Skaven.
Thanks for feedback!

Nice sculpts.
The Rat Ogre looks remarkably similar to Impact's Giant Wrat, Head Slicer.

I am liking this skav... Giant Rat team, and as mentioned above by Pitch Invader: i would snap these up within a heart beat.
Kudos on the work.

Very nice!
The runner looks a bit like somebody just punched him in the face from the side, which I think suits the position well.

Re: The legendary Screamin'Bells
Thank you all! Nice welcome here!
I got the suggestion in a german forum, that he should jump to catch the ball, looking backwards to localize where the ball is getting down.
Do you think he has to look a bit more upwards to represent that idea? No big problem to change that yet.

shitzzo
Oh, that was not my intentionUllis wrote: The runner looks a bit like somebody just punched him in the face from the side, which I think suits the position well.

Re: The legendary Screamin'Bells
I think he was referring to the completed runner mini, not the w.i.p. catcher Lukas...

Re: The legendary Screamin'Bells
Norse got my idea right. Anyway, I think that your idea for the WIP catcher should work out fine. At least I think the head looks great right now. If he looks too far up it might look unnatural.shitzzo wrote:Oh, that was not my intention

Re: The legendary Screamin'Bells
Great sculpt work on display here!
The lineman is maybe a little too large for my tastes but I can't fault the execution. The runner looks great, great choice of pose (Jamal Charles was (he still is too for the Chiefs), a little whippet when he was a longhorn).
My only concern would be that there seems to be an awful lot of players already holding a ball (2 from 4), perhaps an opponents helmet or chunk of armour/jersey would be more suitable for any similarly posed future sculpts?
Keep up the great work!
Cheers,
Dante
