So not +0?
I've not read the rule itself, but if your statement is an accurate reflection of it, it says "can", not "must".
"Roll on the weather table, modifying the result by either + or - 1 or two"

No can implied there. Must be modified for me.
Yup. As written. Moraiwe wins one internet cookie.

I would agree with that based on the quoted rule.

Indeed - it was a sloppy quote by me. +0 is off the table then.
My other question remains: Is modification chosen before the roll, or after (as it is with skills).

Modification is always applied after a roll is made. Obviously in this case as you must always modify by + or - 1 or 2 you have to see the roll to then decide what modifier is the best/least worst. It is a chance to change the weather for something better, not a certainty.

Thanks for the reply.
I get what it does, I just wasn't sure whether it was supposed to do something 28% of the time, or 56% of the time.
56 it is then.
Again - thanks.

Sure, you can play however you want in your own league.
But if you think something/anything would be best for the game and the rules actually got changed to that, then it would also affect any tournaments you went to and platforms like FUMBBL (and pbem and possibly, perhaps, Cyanide at some point).

For what it's worth, I think Garions list on page 4 was quite sensible.

I'm pretty sure no one is calling for sweeping changes. But slight tweaks here and there would have been preferable to what we have really. We have had for 12 years now - Loner on Goblins teams Trolls. I am yet to find anyone who has played the game as much as people like plasmoid and myself that would have argued against a little buff like loner being removed. Every scrape of stats I look at have goblins performing way below Flings, but never mind.

Also I still haven't seen a reply to this question yet -
I do not understand why ZAP is measured against a players strength? What is the reason for this? A 1d6 4+ roll would have been preferable which is what it used to. There is no need to give bash an advantage or stunty teams a disadvantage?

Also you have removed the Zap scatter in the event of a miss, which is a real shame. This was soo much fun, and anyone that ever uses a zap is using the sub optimal fluff spell anyway, so why detract from its hilarity?

With regards to zap, it could be argued that higher strength implies lower agility/movement. I'd expect more agile teams can respond better to a ball carrier being taken out by a zap than bashier teams.

Are they available from Warhammer World? I'll be passing next week and owe myself some Spike.

Enjoyed the new SPIKE including comic with Bob Bifford. That's going to satisfy a hankering from my 7 year old son who keeps asking why there aren't star player stats for Bob given how awesome he makes himself sound in the iOS video game.

Seemed to like the Chaos issue a bit more then this Dark Elf one - but I play chaos so that may be it.

Really think this is a great model that I'll keep buying for future releases.

Still waiting for my copies of 1 & 2 to arrive (ordered late through local store) but flicked through the store copie of #1 and liked what I saw - it's the sort of stuff that makes me wish I still had a league (even if I don't agree with all the changes, which is what the commissioners word is for ;) ).

Still staying as Chaos and Chaos Pact for me though, sorry.

If they are ordering Spike why isn't there enough demand for a league locally? Maybe it's time to launch one? There are a lot of folks out there who love BB who aren't currently playing.

I 'ran' the stores Blitzmania II league, 10 coaches put their name down for it.

I won it by winning the only game played.

And no-one in ARBBL wants to play anymore (the few that did have all moved away in the last year or so).

Yeah, a lot of people take the advantage of Online Play, as sad as it is.
For me, playing games always was about spending time with people.
