Re: New Team! (It's... not Nurgle!)
I'm kind of surprised about the extreme change in quality on written publications from the first year of new Blood Bowl (November 2016 to 2017) and the first 4 months of Necromunda. I understand that it is some "group" inside Forgeworld that makes both these specialist games. While Blood Bowl only suffered from minor mistakes (Wood Elf lineman costing 7000 instead of 70000, throw a d6 on a table with 8 results etc), Necromunda has just been a complete mess with every single book and pdf (except the less relevant/important Orlock pdf).
I hope the bad quality of the numerous Necromunda publications lately don't transfer over to new Blood Bowl publications like this new Spike magazine.
In hindsight, Chaos makes sense as the next team since they've already released the Minotaur, so it's an easy team to complete.
And are we getting a new Blitzmania season? Will there be any new content for this, or just re-use the old? I'm thinking of cards, kick-off table etc.

I wasn't involved in the first few Necromunda releases. Unfortunately someone leaving meant that a few mistakes crept in during the layout and translation process, which are done by other departments. Personally I work very closely with layout and editorial to reduce errors. I'm not a fan of mistakes, though they are inevitable.

Re: New Team! (It's... not Nurgle!)
something this thread has made me realise is that I would love to read how GW take concept art and first turn that into a sculpt and then turn that sculpt into a model on a sprue.
Do the concept artists have to consider what will work production wise before committing to paper or are they given a free hand? Similarly are the sculptors asked to interpret the concept art or replicate it? Do the production people ever have to reject a model because it would be too hard to
It may seem inane to others, but in particular i wonder about how they work out how to turn several sculpts into component pieces on a sprue for the hobbyist to put back together again? what drives how and where to cut a model up into pieces? Do sample sprues need to be made to see how practical it is to build a model from those pieces?

Very interesting to know. I should say I love the comeback of both Blood Bowl and Necromunda, and the models are ace. Personally I think most of the added content for Blood Bowl was superb and there was a lot of it! And now it will be interesting to see more in this new Spike Magazine.JT-Y wrote:I wasn't involved in the first few Necromunda releases. Now that that is said, I'm just so confused how Blood Bowl rules are in a completely different league than Necromunda rules. I won't go into details but everything is just riddled with unclear/confusing rules, inconsistencies (specially weapons, people compared it to Borderlands!) and just plain mistakes. Head over to yaktribe for a long lists of examples (recommend that forum very much for Necromunda). The FAQ/Errata which solved pretty much everything for blood bowl turned out to solve very little for Necromunda, and even brought more confusion in some cases (people are talking about FAQ as intended vs FAQ as written). While the Almanac was great for collecting a bunch of content spread out in books and magazines, there are numerous people who said they gonna wait for a similar compendium in Necromunda before playing the game, not just to collect all the rules, but to fix them.

Blood Bowl CRP were written by the BBRC over the years over tons of feedback.Baxx wrote: Now that that is said, I'm just so confused how Blood Bowl rules are in a completely different league than Necromunda rules.
They were also word checked by Galak in thousands of hours of their free time.
All they had to do was to copy/paste most of it.
The mistakes are in the parts they changed, which are not many
Necromunda was all written by GW....
edit: corrected the wrong quoting....sorry.

Copying and pasting is harder than it looks, eh Rolex.

hehehe.
On topic, Skitters: if you get to a tournament that JTY is going to, he's pretty good for explaining that which can be put into the public domain and I got a brief overview of what you're were asking about over a pint.

Yup. If it's stuff I can talk about, I will talk about it. Though I can also ramble so I won't do that here.
There's a good chance I'll be hanging around in Bugman's looking for drinks the Friday before the NAF Champs as it happens.

Re: New Team! (It's... not Nurgle!)
I am trying to hold on to my 35 bucks from the bonus for Chaos. I personally would have liked armoured monstrosities for my Chaos warriors, but I will take these anyway.
This pace of releasing at least means that I can get every team as they come out, and do not have to choose which teams do I really want. And as I am now going to have to wait till they become available I might just have to buy more gobbos and Skaven to make the underworld team.
Keep up the feeding of my BB addiction please!

Actually at copy/paste GW has been pretty good, never complained about that.... It is the rules-writing I usually complain about (and the reason I quitted WHFB and WH40k ).

I am happily setting aside $200 each financial year to spend GW's way thanks to their support of the game. A few years ago I was boycotting GW's products due to their legal threats against sites like this very website.
Thanks Jonathon. I might be an arrogant bullish prat at times, but I have my heart in the right place - I want Blood Bowl to be the best damn game it can be, and GW to make their right dollars/pounds from it through rules, accessories and miniatures. I will fight for Blood Bowl, including being a 'keyboard warrior' at times. And yes, that means Andy Hoare has copped an angry email about Grak & Crumbleberry, Poisoned Dagger and other 'mistakes' prior to the current rules committee.I'll pass all of that on on Monday morning.

I second Babs feelings.
Up to now my policy for GW produced Bloodbowl has been buy everything as soon as it comes out (rules as well ).
Sometimes more then one of each.
