Rules for new card decks?

Post by fanglord13 »

Can anyone post rules for the decks of cards that didn't come in the boxed game, such as heroic feats and magic items?

Would like to use them without paying highway robbery

12 euros (9 pounds, 15 dollars). That makes the old kit of "two decks for poker" become 48 euros. Similar full kit was printed (in lower volume?) years ago and sold for 20 dollars.

12 euros....

In sweden a cup cafe latte costs around 6 euros

A pack of cigarettes around 6-7 euros

Then a pack och longliving playing cards for 12 euros is fair enough for me.
Similar full kit was printed (in lower volume?) years ago and sold for 20 dollars.
Years ago my paycheck was lower than it is today...

BB cards must be unhealthy to attract extra taxes. :orc:

Well, those cards are still 20 (just like some have frozen paychecks). And one USA custom printer does 108 cards for 9.24, BTW.

Maybe GW is leaving money in the table with the plastic teams...

Citation needed. The Special Play Cards were actually planned to be removed from the game due to cost concerns on GW's part, until I came up with the idea of mapping them to a deck of poker cards.

Well, that was a LOOONG time ago (circa 2002 or so.)

I do think you'll likely see more cards in the future.

No no no, we don't want more race/species segregation. You're gonna wait forever until all teams are covered. Until then, you'll have the same situation with balls, match events and (In)Famous coaching staff: The released teams have plenty of options, the unreleased teams got nothing.

Also, we so far have gotten 3x2 decks. People complain about price now. What you think if there were 24+ decks to buy...

One card currently costs 0.38€ (if 10€ for a pack is correct). 24 x 0.38€ is 9.23€. Now you got 1 racespecified card for a single deck. Multiply that by the 6 current decks, you have 55€. Or, if you want a new separate deck for each team (with a minimum of 10 cards), that's 91€.

I can't recall when Impact started doing them, but it was at least 4 years ago, as I used them at a tournament.

What Darkson linked, or any other hobby shop that carries the WCQ deck.

And to avoid someone asking, the example POD service was http://superiorpod.com/product/print-n-play-card-decks 1 deck, 6 sheets (6*18), poker size, 9.24, NY state based. Less than 9 cents per card.

It's 12 euros (9 pounds, 15 USA dollars), 0.46 per card (35 pence, 58 cents). Citation needed? Go to GW page.

Further clarification:

Don't care how much they cost when the old deck(s) was FREE and included in the rules for all to use.

I'm keen to try out the new cards without having to buy the decks is all and just want the rules.

Further to the money side of things - in Australia we get gouged something fierce on GW products so I tend to place a big order and get my sister to forward it to me from the UK

They are $25 a pack here in Australia (which equates to about 17 Euro). That's a decent amount for a pack of 26 cards.

The cards are one of a few things the new rules have really really dropped the ball with. The game is better off without, they make the game less balanced, less strategic and therefore less fun imo. They should be strongly consigned to the optional section of the rule book instead of drawing cards before the game being core rules.

However if you want the extra crazy stuff, then as others have pointed out they arent expensive. just buy some. They are good quality card, well presented etc...
