Yep - these are big considerations for me organising UKTC for 2018. I'm exploring options for a larger venue but the bigger boards could mean each match takes as much as twice the space. I'd rather stipulate old boards only rather than shrink the capacity. Solution might be to obtain a selection of smaller boards to loan to players who only have the new one. I'm sure it'll work out...

I'm sure there will be plenty of old-style boards around. It's the big new bases that will be the problem.

I put my (soon to be...) old humans on 30mm bases recently and they fit just fine on the (soon to be...) old pitches.

Impact!'s 30mm bases we made a long time ago and now are sold to multiple stores across the world ... they solve a lot of the issue. Put new figures on those .. and they'll fit the old board pretty well.

I've put a lot of my 2ed big guys on these bases (not all of them though...) they are highly recommended.

Some of those positionals look very confusing.....maybe its 'a getting used to them' thing again. However human linos and blitzers......they've always been easier to tell apart in the past. I'm also not really a fan of much weaponry on players. Ok, claws on hoshi......he's a star. However so many spikes on mitts would likely end up practically everybody being killed.

This is absolutely why I am selling my models off when I am able to buy the new box set. The models look fantastic, but they are almost more suited to a WFB battlefield than a BB pitch. As soon as I can buy the box set, off they go to the trade forums here or on Facebook.

30mm bases are the perfect solution. Now all we need to do is figure out how to get them into every box GW sells and we're sorted.

Joking aside though, there were a lot of converted teams at the Bugmans weekend on 32mm bases, and I don't recall any really big issues with them on the 29mm pitches. Not ideal, but hardly unworkable.

And that's another point worth making, certainly for the UK. Do we know what WHW is doing with those pitches, has anybody asked Andy or the WHW manager?
WHW will no doubt be getting a stock of new pitches, and it'd be a shame to see the 29mm pitches they have now, which were brand new in May, get skipped.
I'm happy to inquire about them.

Old scale pitches at Exiles as we won't be able to fit anything larger!
Ditto for ARBBL, unless I have the potential maximum from 50 to 24./26.
