Slann Player Names

Post by Echsenmensch »

Since I'm getting JBones awesome Slann Team, I'm looking for some NFL based Player Names. I have made a few up myself, but I think I used Toad and Frog to much times. Since I'm not a native English speaker, I got problems with finding good puns in the mostly English player names. So I'm asking you to help me out. Do somebody know a few NFL based Slann player names? Any help would be awesome. :orc:

I terrible at this kind of thing but I will give it a go and maybe there will be one you like!:

AJ Greenskin
Josh Sittonlily
Devonta Freetoad
Delanie Pad-Jumper
Cam Newt
Khalil Wartback
DeAndre Hopper

Let me know if they are so bad you need the real names for comparison!

'Marsh'al Yanda should be an easy one but I can't think of anything at the moment

Lynn Slann was always my favorite Slann name. But it depends on whether you pronounce it to rhyme with swan, or ran. I don't want to start a holy war.

Hopalong Cassidy seems pretty obvious, although you can go the smart @ss route and call another Banjo Pobblebonk (the Pobblebonk being a species of Australian banjo frog) or Bufo Marinus (the much - and quite rightly - hated Cane Toad).

And although Oozeboss strikes me as being the perfect name for any Kroaksigor, that role in the KROAKLAND RAIDERS has been usurped by Three Mile Lyle while the Ooze replaces the obvious choice, John Mudden, as Coach.

I don't know NFL player names that well. One of my ideas for a Slann team a few years ago was based on a group of Slann that were noble frog knights or whatever based in Bretonnia and lived on the lake with the Lady of the Lake...spirit elemental thing? in it. They had some kind of deal going on...Maybe she protected them from having their giant juicy legs chopped and eaten and so they played BB for her! Anyway the team names I came up with were Frogs-di-Lis (deliberately used the English word frog instead of French Grenouille so it would be more like Fleur-di-Lis), the Aquitaine Edibles and Quenelles Croakers. All of their player names were based on French athletes and footballers (soccer players). So you have players like :

Jacque Rebleufrog, (sacre bleu frog aka as in Bullfrog),
Natterjacque (Natterjack toad)
G. Frogschelet (Forschelet is a French Tahiti football midfielder)
Tamatoad Wageslann (Tamatoa Wagemann is a Tahiti defender/ midfielder)
Toadie Onreed (Thierry Henry)
Pascal Vanura (Pascal Vahirua is a French left winger? Anura is the order of Frogs and Toads.)
Eric Canetoadna (Eric Cantona) as in Cane Toad
Frog'tanian (obvs Musketeer d'Artagnan and not a footballer or NFL guy)
Napoleon Bonafrog (TMNT Punk Frog)
