Would having a gap next to the sidestepper would have stopped it, you think?

There are a lot of ways it might have been stopped. Leaving room around the sidestepper would be one. Also: spacing the 5 tacklers in the back 2 apart, and then using the two runners freed up that way to screen off the back of the sidestepper. Yes, I did wind up winning in overtime. =)
