New CRP/LRB6 Ickle Book

Post by outcast »

EDIT: Including link to current version of the document here...

I recently downloaded a copy of the Ickle Book and found it really useful - only problem is it's LRB5.

So, with the kind permission of Ravage I have set about updating it and I'm putting the finishing touches on a CRP/LRB6 Ickle Book.

Can anyone advise me of the best way to share it to others. Am I ok posting a link on here or does that risk incurring the Wrath of GW and getting me in trouble with the mods? Should I just invite PMs?

Would also welcome some proof-reading when it's done :-)

Cheers

No problem with linking to it as far as I can see - the older Ickle's were.

I'll throw my hat in for proof-reading, I'm told I'm almost at a 3rd grade reading level!

Thanks Darkson, and thanks chigger254 for the proof-reading offer.

I'll post a link as soon as it's done... shouldn't be much longer now!

Ok, here is a first draft of the revised Ickle Book for LRB6/CRP...

https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9055879/CRP_Ickle_Book.pdf

Any proof-reading and feedback would be much appreciated. Also, any suggestions for additions (bearing in mind it is supposed to be "Ickle") or ommissions (are the Special Play cards used very widely?) also gratefully received.

Hope others find the book as useful as I have :-)

Mods, please move this thread if you feel it belongs elsewhere - I wasn't sure?

Cheers

Some quick feedback:
  • Star players are wrong - e.g chainsaw and bomb stars no longer have No Hands
  • Goblin rerolls are 60k, not 50k
  • The rosters for the expansion teams (Pact, Slann, Underworld) only list 4 available stars but there should be 6
Looks good otherwise... You could trim a few pages by removing the card descriptions as I'm not sure how useful they are?

Thanks Sandwich - I've fixed those.

Thanks chigger254 - much appreciated. I've spotted a host of errors on the Star Players... I think I must have been copying them from an old doc.

Agree on trimming the cards.

Also, might be useful to have three of the most common house ruled teams at the bottom of that last page there, for use by players in other formats: Brettonians (NTBB), Daemons of Khorne (Cyanide) and - here's the punchline - Apes of Wrath (3DB/NZCBBL).

Go on! You know it makes sense :)

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

Might just be a personal preference though, but you've used the old terms for Norse players, i.e. Blitzer, Catcher, and not Berserker, Runner. Don't know if that was intentional though.

Thanks for the idea Shteve0. Very happy to stick a "house rule roster" section in. Can you point me in the direction of where I can find these?

Ah, I see. I just copied the positions directly from the CRP - just noticed they differ in LRB6!

Happy to go with either. Do folks tend to prefer LRB6 to CRP?

(Sorry for the three separate replies. I haven't found how to quote more than one post in Tapatalk!)

:) sure thing.

Cyanide's Daemons of Khorne:

NTBB's Brettonians:
http://www.plasmoids.dk/bbowl/BBBretonnians.htm

And the Apes of Wrath are in my sig!

Bear in mind that none of these rosters are NAF cleared, but are (probably) the most common and consistent house rosters (obviously Cyanide's is number 1, thanks to the PC game vehicle). Incidentally, all three are now automatically available as add-ons in the latest version of the obblm software.
