Re-Roll Counters

Post by Redfang »

Just out of curiosity. Does anybody else make his own re-roll counters, with their own team logo?

I did so some years ago (with the normal GW logos), but I accidentally made them too small. Also I've misplaced them somewhere during the last years.

I'm going to make new ones now, now my Dwarf team has finally got their logo, and like I already said, I was just wondering if anybody else did so as well.

I was considering this as it happens, because I need to make a few more to replace those I've lost over the years.

We had a coach that used to do this with his Elf team. If I were to do this, I'd go all out and make special score, turn and leader counters as well. Maybe a picture of your leader making an inspired play? If you get extra-motivated, you could get cheering fans and brilliant coaching counters as well.

BTW, this just occured to me - can cheering fans and brilliant coaching be used as rerolls for big guys as leader and tropy rerolls can?

I use coaching staff as all the counters in my games (re-roll, score, turn). It gives me something to do with the model and its fun to say that my team gets its re-roll because of a coach or some rowdy cheerleaders.

I use Cheerleader models as Rerolls.
Grim Ironjaw is my Score marker, a very slightly converted Dwarf Runesmith the turn marker.

I don't use the score counter at all. Like everyone else, I use minis for rerolls and turn counters.

PM me if you want my paper counters.

Each of my main teams has their own "command group" to use for turn/reroll/score markers.

I particularly like the Red Guard Rats score marker - It's a Storm Vermin standard bearer waving The Red Flag :)

Using mini's, hm

That sounds like a good idea too...

Guess I'll have to start bothering GW again for a few Dwarf Cheerleaders...

Do you guys use a model per reroll, or just one model sliding it over when you use a reroll?

Have you got your counters as coaching staff on your roster too?

One per reroll. I have them facing the pitch when unused, and turn them around when I use them.

My league has a system for reroll markers...move your reroll markers along the track as turns go by, leaving used rerolls on the turn number they were used. helps keep track of whether you have used a reroll in that turn or not. If there's a used one there, you have.

Sounds like a good idea.

One model per re-roll...

That would be 8 cheerleaders in the end...

Bit expensive...

Nope don't use none of those because we use custom made pitches and score boards :D

We use a modified version of the stadium rules by neo and have a board to represent each one, makes games more fun when you're rolling to see where you play.

One day I'll get round to taking some decent pictures of them but at the moment I'm working on the NBBL 2502/03 Season Annual (yes I said annual!) so there's no chance of pictures for a wee while.
