As someone whose played against wooden blocks with skills written on them 'The bigger ones are ogres and the slightly smaller ones are snotlings'

and kinder egg toys 'the ladybird, the smurf with a sword and the hippo are my blitzers....' etc etc

I have to agree with Heff on this one too!

I’ve always thought the most important factor in the items you use as players is that easy to work out what player they are supposed to represent.

I’ve seen skeleton, zombie, vampire and werewolf lego models and think I’ve heard there are mummy and Frankenstein ones too, so it should be relatively easy to do the 4 undead teams. If you had a lego pitch then it may even be easier to play as you would not have to worry about the models being moved by accident. Lego vs lego teams on a lego pitch would look cool and be a bit of a novelty but lego against normal models would look a bit rubbish.

The issue with counts as or bland samey teams like GW amazons is that continually asking which type of player a model is can really slow the game down and potentially give that coach an advantage.

Whilst I agree that not everything is appropriate, most things that are easilly identifiable and fit into about 28mm are perfectly acceptable to me. Cant see what the issue is.

As requested by some others here are my lego teams.

The Monster Squad - Necro

True Blood - Vamps

In the middle are the beginnings of my Khemri as well as some of the bits I swap in for my Undead. On the right you can see the star players J. Earlice, Ramtut, Settek. On the left Bloodweiser Babes and their keg. In the bottom middle obviously some cheerleaders, An apoth and wandering apoth as well as a wizard.

This is what I was getting at, obviously :)

Unfortunatly in my league it is the only way to keep my team value down, I did have it up at TV2200 for quite a while but was facing some seroius Star Players, once my opponents started fronting the 300k for a Hot Pot each game it was time to get rid of something and my expensive excess Wrestle Fend Thralls lost out.

Honestly cannot stop chuckling...

I see Heff's point but I have to say, Harroguk's lego teams were a lot better than I was expecting. And I like the way there's even Bloodweiser Babes. I would rather face a "real" team of models but, to be honest, I'd probably find it easier to distinguish the lego player types than a lot of people's representations of the differences between blitzers, catchers etc.

I wanted to use the prepainted dnd or starwars figures to make a team but its hard to get the figures with weapons. Was going for a droid team, r2d2 as goblins and c3p0 as trolls. Think it would look cool and there is the red r2d2 as well so he could be a different position. As for the lego, if its lego vs lego then as a travel game that's cool. And if its on the table top it has to be better then a team just undercoated. I sometimes find teams just uncoated hard to pick the players out.

Not a new development at all. Some of us old timers can still remember Torpor's lego BB that he took up to the BB at WH World many moons ago..teams and a pitch. Illegal for the tourney itself of course, but there were a few all 'lego games' in Bugman's IIRC. Bit of novel fun...where's the harm?

The harm comes from when heff spots a Lego dwarf team and goes on a killing spree.

As an upside, think of all the free publicity bloodbowl would get!

I prefer to see fantasy football players complete with spikey pads etc... and well painted, hence lego is awful.

However I can appreciate other coaches have a different take on it and put a lot of effort into an easily identifiable team, hence these are glorious.

I have a bigger loathing for some of the female teams out there, I'd rather see my players as potential players of a brutal sport rather than extras at a soft pr0n shoot. Not every coach shares the same view obviously.

Figures are little sculptures with charm and character of their own who people spend hours perfecting (or not their choice). Lego is a childs plaything. This however is class

The best thing EVER done with lego,

I laugh with and at you
They are both freakin childs games you are playing with little toys and dice
I love the creativity of the legos idea you spend countless hours hunting down the figures and basing them, you spend countless hours modeling/painting metal ones
Technically he can FREELY and is incouraged use the legos in most NAF events with the simple phrase of "you may use models from ANY manufacturer as long as the models clearly represent the positions." If I am not mistaken that was even true with the WCII.

My big personal crazy a$$ beef is that the models do not have numbers on the front and back of the base
