Hey guys, i've heard the term 'Legacy Team' being banded around a little. Can anyone please clarify what a 'Legacy Team' actually is?
Thanks in advance.

If you've been looking at the threads here Legacy Teams are generally teams made up of miniatures painted and donated by a group of individuals and then gifted to one of the contributors via a random draw.

Yep, a legacy team is one that has been painted by multiple people. Usually the system is that everyone paints a model and then the team gets raffled off to one of the painters. Digger Goreman wrote: A team not retired at the end of the season... one played in perpetua.... Ummm.... no. That would be a perfectly accurate description of such a team but Jembo is looking for a translation of a specific term.

Either Goreman's been missing something for over 3400 posts or SillySod doesn't understand his brand of sarcasm. Fess up Goreman, did you not know what a Legacy Team is? I MUST GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS!

"Some of this and all of that's the only way to skin the cat!" (Ian Anderson/Jethro Tull) Eh, I'm in a very "truthful" mood so: 1. It was late and my mind wasn't thinking of anything but the obvious (to me).... 2. The obvious, to me, being my mind and my experience, is given in my answer to Jembo.... Long before the miniatures painting "to do", I used the term (and still do) to mean exactly that.... Fear not... I won't sick an IP lawyer on ye'.... 3. Yeah, now that you jog my memory, I do recall the "legacy teams", though (no insult to anyone) I've never been involved in the process... don't care to be (I don't feel my talents are anywhere near worthy)... and don't follow it that much other than an occasional look-see.... So, yeah, I can see where my confusion and answer are at odds with the needs of the inquiry.... But it all comes from a relative point of view.... I remember that, at one time, I found a mundane article's reference to CE confusing till I realized they meant "Civil Engineer" and not "Commander Exposed"....

Wow, I learned something new!
In my league a legacy team is a team that still has a "pre-lrb5" positional. aka grandfathered teams I think.....
But I guess that's not what the OP was after.
