Cyanide announced a DungeonBowl game too. Galak said a DB box would make sense as standalone TT product. The DB site has something already, so no joke about that computer game.

I do see the announcement of the Dungeonbowl game as giving credence to the BB boxed set rumours. The reported rumour was 4 teams of individual players, and a new pitch. If you did this for normal BB then you’d have to leave out the other 20 teams and we’d be stuck with the old GW models for them. I doubt this would garner GW much extra in model sales and likely boost the other fantasy football manufacturers more. With mixed teams and up to 64 models you could cover the 8 original teams with some re-jigging. I could see some lovely dungeon tiles along the lines of the space hulk floor plans too. They could either link you to the pdf for the crp rules and include a fancy new book with just the dungeonbowl changes or do a complete new rulebook with both rules in it. I wonder if the claims that GW banned pact and slann but allowed khorne daemons adds any credence too? I did try to resurrect the thread on warseer as there are a couple of very reliable rumour mongers there. Sadly that thread is locked and my attempts to bring it back got consigned to the depths of the video game forum. Seems they only care about 40k and WHFB there. Maybe I should have lied and come out with the usual “Some redshirt at GW told me Dugeonbowl will be the mystery release this Sept”.

At least a Dungeon Bowl set will not end up like Dreadfleet and to think i was going to play that before i started Flames of War.The main thing with it for me was the fact that it was a one off game.Too bad they did not make it compatible with Man o War.That was probably why it bombed.

Dungeonbowl as the box set game make a LOT more sense than normal BB. They can do the components similar to the Space Hulk components. They can do say 48 minis for four teams of mixed races, probably on 4 sprues of 12. 24 total sculpts (2 of each figure). (let's hypothesize teams being Dwarf-Norse (hitty), Skaven-Dark Elf (fast), Elf-Human (agile), Orc-Beastman(killy)) They can use the CRP rules with minimal easily tested modifications. It doesn't f up the rules that exist. Will appeal to newbie players and vets without treading on anyone's toes. Hell, I'd buy a decent Dungeonbowl box in a heartbeat if I knew that that was what I was getting.

And this is GW you would not get enough players to have a full team for normal BB so would have to buy 2 sets! If they put Chaos Dwarfs in there and kept with the most fantasy battle look to the players I am sure plenty of people would buy it just to break up and sell on e-bay. Mind you, quite a few would be entrepreneurs tried that with dreadfleet and lost money.
The rumours were that all the players would be individual like the terminators were for Space Hulk, though I believe you got 2 sets of individual genestealers.
*edit* Oh and I could see them promoting you getting 2 sets to make a massive dungeon as well.

Well here is my thoughts on what the box sets would be.
Blood Bowl, Humans and Orks Dungeon Bowl, Dwarves and Elves All just like the orginals. The four teams idea is from the combination of the two.
Other teams that i would Speculate on would be,Chaos,Skaven maybe a Undead team.VAmps would be a good team.Considering they do not have any Big guys in the starting roster and them being fairly popular in Fantasy.

Actually Dungeonbowl as a mystery Release makes more sense. These Mystery packs have always been Fire and Forget Products with no extra stuff to stock in your shelves. So a complete Dungeonbowl set with all Rules and minis in it can be produced, released, sold and then forgotten. A Blood Bowl Box as a mystery Release leads only to more sales in Blood Bowl Teams which is obicously a bad thing for GW.

I'll second that opinion, Dungeon Bowl seems more likely, especially considering the Cyanide version is on it's way. And I don't think I'd want a re-realease of Blood Bowl anyway. I could put up with Dungeon Bowl because 1. The rules desperately need an update 2. The Fire-and-Forget nature would leave the Blood Bowl community pretty much unaffected and wouldn't undermine the work that good people like Tom and Co. have been doing while GW have been ignoring Blood Bowl. 3. Games Workshop's one-off boxed game miniatures these days are, IMO, a much higher quality than the miniatures they release for their actual lines. Dungeon Bowl minis might actually be useable. 4. The rules reeeeeally need an update.

If it's a Dungeonbowl Boxset, I'll totally buy it. As opposed to other sets (I'm looking at you, Dreadfleet), this could actually get use outside of just what you get in the box. Not only could the minis (possibly) be used for Blood Bowl, but Dungeonbowl can use by other teams we may own.
I don't know how others feel about it, but I always switch up games at home by playing some Dungeonbowl with my brothers. It keeps things interesting switching back and forth.

I think DB might be the only GW product that could make me buy anything from GW ever again. ...assuming it's a version that isn't too infested with 2 square wide bottlenecks. Thrown in a new khorne daemon team in plastic, and I think I'd do it.
Standard BB brushed up and made extra purdee? Nope.
Cheers Martin

Based on GWs price increase the next f&f box should be in the range of $150

Does the fact that Cyanide's Dungeonbowl is still using Jervis' rules and rosters from 10 years ago discredit these rumors? Or is GW dastardly enough to allow their partners to produce a PC game that will be obsolete within a couple of months?
