I can only agree that more awareness about BB through Cyanide is a good thing. It will bring more people to TT no doubt about that.

Genghis wrote: I predict you will see the Underworld and Khorne Daemon rosters in there, though. Underworld ... okay ... but I really hope you don't see the Khorne roster official. Since Cyanide already stated it on their forums so this is not a secret. I did a lot of the design for the Khorne roster ... however I would really like to see it get the level of playtesting with the world community like we gave Underworld, Slann and Chaos Pact before it was made official. I believe I helped design a team that will play differently from the other 24 and is a balanced roster for Khorne hopefully aimed at Tier 1.5 ... but we made tweaks to all the 3 new Tier 1.5 teams before we locked them down based on the feedback from the world community. The roster is getting testing but a closed test I learned is nothing like a world community live fire test. So while I have zero issue with the roster being part of the Cyanide game (and actually look forward to playing the team) as Cyanide would have the freedom to tweak it easily with a patch if a real problem we missed is found. Putting it in the BB rulebook could mean it is canon for years without the ability to retool. So to be clear ... I think the Khorne roster is a balanced new roster for the Cyanide game ... but balanced in the same way that the original Underworld, Chaos Pact and Slann rosters were when first released to the public. IE I think it should work out of the box, but it might need a tweak to get it to settle in properly and only massive playtesting will find that.

Well that’s good news they allowed you to work on it Galak. I had some terrible visions of a team with Cyanide only input seeing as added loads of useless junk like the real time mode and all the stuff in blitz. It’s just a shame it had to be another chaos team, what we really need is 2 more dwarf teams to match the 4 elven ones. If only to see Heff’s reaction when that is announced and then watch him explode when they bring out a lego skins booster pack.

Hmm. I might have to consider letting Khorne into FOL just to allow it to be tested properly. I should be able to get a few hundred or thousand games of data from a season of play (2 months). Hopefully that will give an indication of any tweaking required which, hopefully(!), Cyanide may be able to implement.

Tom Vasel (of The Dicetower fame) who is the news editor for Game Salute let drop on a podcast he was a guest on that he has "heard from sources" that blood bowl is going to be reprinted with the Space Hulk deluxe treatment.
He didn't note what those sources were (and could have just been rumblings from the internet like we see at this very forum) but he isn't the type to say something IS HAPPENING on just rumblings and I would guess that he does have a source.
However, I should note that he did say that he hasn't posted this news officially on game salute because he can't verify any of the source information.
Knowing what I do about his track record though I would say this is a positive tick in the "going to happen" column. 1:09:03 in for those interested.

So, when is the mystery boxed set due out this year? I'm sure it's been posted on this thread somewhere, but quite frankly I'm too damned busy to look for it right now.

I really can’t see GW releasing a blackbox product this year. They have the new 40K starter set due to come out in September and that will generate a lot of sales. Plus the Chaos Codex is out soon too and possibly Dark Angels and they are both popular armies. Then we have the Hobbit range due at the end of the year so there aren’t any quiet months left that would benefit from a boxed set. I think Dreadfleet wasn’t that successful either so they might be a bit more cautious.
Having seen the awesome plastic models in the starter set I do so wish this was true. 4 teams of that quality all in plastic would just be sheer heaven. I would bet a considerable sum of money that it would be very popular and outsell Space Hulk too.

Interesting, as I've seen a few recent rumors claiming BB Boxed set is in for 2013. Still, I think we'd be a lot more likely to see Warhammer Quest before Blood Bowl, in all honesty.

Actually I may have spoke to soon about this. Latest rumours about the new 40K boxed set is that it will be the same cost as Assault on Black reach so £60 odd quid. Looks like a pretty good deal for dice, templates, rules and 48 models including a dreadnought and 3 bikes. Can’t remember if you get any scenery or cards with it so a bloodbowl game may cost more if it had a high quality board and dug outs. But 48 models would be 4 teams of 12.

But, it does give you quite a lot of options to go to at higher level dungeons. EDIT: Nevermind, they've since added some options that do provide quite a few of the basic Quest monsters. Things like snotlings and bats are still quite tricky, though, as always.
