Square Bases?

Post by Taochad »

So, what's the thought on an opponent having his BB mini's on square bases?

I've put ALL my guys on square bases for one reason: when I roll a "stunned" result on the INJURY table, I don't want my player rolling on it's side. The square edge keeps the player "face up" or "face down.

What's your thoughts?

:P

I always wondered why Blood Bowl players had round bases on square squares!

I prefer round bases.

I think round based give a more 'rounded' feel to my mini's

They just look better that way

Round bases is good!
They look beeter on the board. I'he started with WH Minis, before the order of my team and the look is very different.

Round Based is more cool.

Square bases are just to make cohesive military units. You know, Warhammer squads, and so on. Round bases for anything else.

Right now I´ve modified all my 11 big guys and removed the old square base, switching to the new big round bases of LOTR. You can buy a bag of those in any GW shop. They are the ones that use the Moria troll and some others, like the new Two Towers cavalry. (I´m pretty sure that is the same base that the new BB ogre uses)

My Big Guys look WAY better on those bases. I´m still working to make my two bull centaurs fit on them though.

I like the look of the "round" based better, but I always figured it's becasue I only play 40k.

Which minis do you have problems with? I've never seen any mini that "rolls over" or you can't tell if it's stunned or merely down.

And I like round bases better! For big guys especially, they're absolutely essential to save room in the big press of bodies.

I guess that's not exactly allways so.

Some models, at least soem of my, non GW, norse DO roll over. Halflings do have the same tendency, but that's to be expected with their roundish bellies :D
