Fan Favourite - I don't get it!

Post by Fold »

Here we have a skill that nobody can get and no player or star player has. What's the story? I'd have thought that the likes of Morg would have it at least?

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

Thrud had (has) it but GW no longer have the rights to use Thrud.

I see. Has anyone tried house ruling it so all star players get the rule? It doesn't seem particularly game breaking and it would provide more incentive to use stars (in my experience they tend to take a back seat to other inducements).

In one of the Leagues I'm in, the winner of the season finale gets Fan Favorite on one of their players (which does add to TV, but doesn't take up a spot in the SPP/Skill progression).

Yeah, we use it as a prize for player of the season (the ballon d'orc). The highest SSP'ed (excluding MVP) player in the league gets it (before all teams graduate to the masters league). So only about 1 in every 14 teams picks it up.

The story is that you need to download the Icepelt rulebook from Cyanide.

The player with the most SPPs at the end of the season gets the Spike award and gains the skill Fan Favourite

Page 32 of the Icepelt Rulebook (or 34 of the PDF):
If the tournament organizer likes, he may also choose to hand
out the award for the Spike! Magazine Player of the Year after
the final has been played. This award goes to the player in the
league who has the most Star Player points. The player gains
the skill Fan Favourite permanently, unless he already has this
skill, for as long as the player is still on the team. Treat this as a
skill taken on a Double for calculating the player's value. Note
that the player does not have to be in one of the teams that took
part in the final, or even the tournament, in order to receive the
reward.

Yeah.... Dont think it's possible with PHPBB, need to update the software to something like Xenforo or VBulliten.

I have visited PHPBB forums with that thing. Required theme support too. So there must be a way.

In our League we do the following:

----------------------------------------------
Sears Mayfeather Trophy - League MVP

The winner of the League MVP is voted on by the press. The league leaders of the following categories: Completions, Touchdowns, Interceptions, Causalities, and Game MVPs, will determine who the league MVP is. Category lead ties, if two or more players are tied for the lead in that category then the player with the highest SPP’s will be eligible for the League MVP Award.

If someone leads the league in multiple categories then he or she gets a greater chance at winning the League MVP Award. The winner of the League MVP gets the FAN FAVORITE skill for the entire next year. Under this MVP system it is possible for players killed in action that still led the league in certain stat categories can still be up for League MVP as well.

Up to 3 additional players may be up for League MVP based on SSPs if the Commissioner and at least 65% of the other league owners agree. The only time I can see this being in effect is it someone or some players had the top spots in league SPPs but was not a League Leader in any category. Under this rule option all-around great players have a chance to be League MVP. Imagine a player being second in all categories but with no shot at being MVP. This will cover these players.
---------------------------------------------

This way we have someone with the skill.
