Hi all,

it seems that the Khorne team roster has been released for testing but Cyanide are currently suppressing all information about it. Other than, daemons!

Anyway, some of you must know the current state of the roster and I'm pretty sure that the rest of us would love to know about it even if it isn't the finally final version. Please spill the beans :)

Before you tell us though, do be aware that you probably signed an NDA. If you want to tell us anyway then great! If, however, you don't want to go on record then fair play - legal stuff is legal stuff :( If you don't want to publicly break the NDA but don't mind it becoming available via "rumour from an anonymous source" then send me a PM and I'll be sure to see that it gets about. The rumour, not the PM ;)

0-1 Bloodthirster 5 7 2 10 Loner; Unstable Aura; Mighty Blow; Frenzy; Wings S(G,P) 150,000

Wings: A player with Wings is able move above other players for a short distance, assuming it has room to safely take off from the pitch. To represent this ability, if a player with Wings does not start its activation in any enemy tackle zones it may ignore all enemy tackle zones while moving as a part of a Move or Blitz action. Enemy tackle zones still count for all other non-movement purposes, including assisting in blocks or fouls and modifying pick-up, catch, and pass attempts.

Unstable Form: Some twisted creatures come from the deepest and most vile parts of the Realm of Chaos, making manifestation and control of their physical form unstable at best. To represent this feature, players with Unstable Form most roll a D6 after declaring an Action, but before taking that Action. On the roll of a 1, the player vanishes from the physical realm. Remove the model from the board and place a token in the square it occupied. This does not count as a turnover unless the player was carrying the ball, in which case it scatters. The square is now treated as empty and players may move into it. Next time the player declares an Action, roll for Unstable Form again. On a 2 or better, the player returns to the physical realm and is placed standing in the square it vacated and may carry out the rest of its Action normally. If another player is occupying the square, that player is knocked down (roll Armor as normal; this does not cause a turnover if the player is from the moving team unless the player was holding the ball) and scatters. If the knocked down player scatters into another player, the player is pushed. In addition, after any Drive ends the player must roll a D6. On the roll of a 1 the player may not be set up for the following drive as it struggles to maintain its form. This roll may not be rerolled and is in addition to any other rolls such as for Sweltering Heat.

Just kidding! But I wouldn't be surprised if there was indeed an actual Bloodthirster on the Khorne team given the pictures, or perhaps it is just a Demon Prince or something. Either way, I fully expect it to be even more broken and over-powered than "Timmy's Dream Bloodthirster" from above.

Not since I found out in the other thread that you were involved in the design of the Khorne roster--I'm actually looking forward to finding out this roster now! Thank Nuffle Cyanide/GW didn't try to put together a team on their own.

Drat ... appears I've missed a money making opportunity.

What's funny to me is that Cyanide announced on their forums that I helped design the roster as a way of trying to get folks to calm down about "how bad will it be" ... but it didn't seem to get too far into community pentration (heck it was even mentioned on TFF at one point). I think everyone was convinced that it would be bad in the early days that they missed this comment by Cyanide.

Anyway ... sorry SillySod .. if one of the three folks that worked together to build this roster spills the beans on what it looks like ... it won't be from me. I was just happy Cyanide was willing to ask for my opinion and thoughts after the very weird and non-sensical GW blow up of December 2009 so I want to very much honor my agreement ... and no ... I won't say who the other 2 individuals were that designed the team since Cyanide didn't feel the need to mention their names when they were trying to calm everyone down ... so that remains NDA as far as I'm concerned as well.

Tom

Well knowing you are involved is a good sign. Any idea if the Sept release is still good?

Any idea what the roster looks like? Our league in Auckland could do some playtesting.

Fair play.

This wasn't intended to be aimed at you as a designer so much as anyone who might be involved in the closed test (although I figured you would read it :P). Based on what I have read I assumed that the closed test was one of moderate size but this may well not be the case. I figured that if there are maybe 20-100 members of the bloodbowl public giving it a quick rundown before publishing then there are reasonable odds someone will spill. If its smaller than that though I guess we'll have to wait.

Because of my duties with Impact! I had to drop off after working to make sure the starting roster was final and set.

I honestly have no idea how many folks are in the testing pool for the roster.

Looking at what we have and what the roster could be as well as Toms comments about the team bringing something new to the game. I'm putting my money on something like this -

basic premiss is a Wild Animal heavy team.

0-16 linemen 6338 GM
0-6 Bloodletters 6428 GS Wild Animal, MB, Horns, Frenzy
0-1 Big Guy 5 5 1 9 S Wild Animal, MB, Frenzy, Horns, Thick Skull, Block

Something along those lines anyway. Not sure what the big guy will be maybe bloodthirster or daemon prince or something like a Mino of khorne. There may not be a big guy it may just be a star player, hard to say. I think the letters guess is pretty likely as there is no roster with that much WA in and it would be pretty tough to work with and at the same time quite scary with all that mb about. If letters arent at least that stat line there is something very wrong, they should really be ag3 too tbh. Though i could also see the MA dropping to 5 too which again it shouldn't but may be.

No idea what the linos will be, maybe cultists or khorne thugs/chaos thugs?

looks pretty reasonable Garion, but I expect the team to have more Khorney flavour than that.. so I would expect any deamons to have Regenerate of sorts, but also Blood Lust of sorts as well, making the cultists effectively chaos thralls..

I'm curious to see how they are built up to be different from the current teams..

frenzy maybe, but norse have that

claw maybe, but with the cpomb debates that is a ballsy way to build a new team

regen is on enough teams to not be a primary thing..

Maybe similar to nurgle where it's a chaos-based roster with extras.. combos of claw/frenzy would only work if players did not have gen skill access balance wise, imo.

At this point I'm more interested if they are able to make a sept (or close to it) release date.

0-2 berserker 6338 frenzy, dauntless, thrall GS/APM 80k
0-6 bloodletter 6338 horns, regen GM/ASP 90K
0-1 bloodthirster 5519 frenzy, blood lust, regen, loner, horns SM/APG 130K

I'm also thinking that Frenzy will be the focus of the team (unless there's a new skill or two introduced). If it is Frenzy, than I suspect that most of the positions won't have normal Strength access, as blanket Guard at high TV could really lessen the restrictions/downsides of Frenzy.
