These look like composites of 3rd Ed figs being sold as unreleased models. Anyone know any details of these? ebay

If it's the same person as before, he's converted them, then recast them.

It is a new home brew recaster. The orginal guy was from Spain.This guy is from Louisana.Not bad since they look like his own orginal work i may have to put a bid in.

those are top notch conversions and I figured out most of the parts. Love the dwarf cheerleader body for the skaven (I might have to buy that one)

Taking commissions and then sculpting those figures (Wolverine, Yoda) must be a violation of IP. Similarly, even if those pieces weren't commissioned and sold, wouldn't it be a violation to use them as a form of advertisement? I mean, for instance, someone sure as hell couldn't put a picture of R2D2 on their book store's sign and logo.

What business do you or I have looking out for the intellectual property of George Lucas or Marvel Comics? We've all seen unlicensed Indiana Jones/Doctor Who/Lara Croft miniatures from major miniatures companies, so I can't summon any outrage toward an independent sculptor doing a very small bit of the same thing. It's his business, just as it's his own problem should he get hassled or sued.

The rules on IP seem to be very complicated and vary from country to country.
I’ve certainly seen plenty of models that are obviously meant to be existing characters from sci-fi or fantasy tv shows and movies just with a different name and a few minor changes.
I think much of it comes down to how keen the IP owner is to defend these rights. Sadly if you go C&D crazy like Gw’s lawyers tend to do then you can bully smaller companies and individuals even if they may not be doing anything wrong. It is just too risky, expensive and time consuming to defend your position.

The orginal guy was from Spain.This guy is from Louisana.Not bad since they look like his own orginal work i may have to put a bid in. this is wrong. i asked the seller if he designed and cast these skaven and he gave me the email address of the spanish guy what made them. hes the same guy that has made the new ctholu(sp) team for impact!(which i think is nothing short of amazing). in fact, i just spent $60usd for all 7 of the skaven mutants he designed. the hulk figure he has is quite nice, too.
